What makes our casting special?

At Good Egg Casting, we believe that good casting is much more than just the right “look”. Instead, we believe in creating a curious, fresh and open casting process for everyone involved.
Auditions can be stressful experiences for actors. At Good Egg, we work hard to make the audition space feel safe and welcoming, especially for those who have never auditioned before. We get better performances out of talent that feel comfortable and confident.
As well as casting through traditional acting agencies, Good Egg also specialises in community casting. We search far and wide to find the right people for the project. Whether that’s female 4WDers, beekeepers based in the Waikato or 10 year old prodigal drummers, we can find you the Good Eggs.

Who is Good Egg Casting?

Harriett Maire is the founder of Good Egg Casting. She’s been casting commercials and finding good eggs since 2016, and has recently moved over to casting longer form narrative work as well.
Harriett has a background in formal theatre training. She performed on the Globe Stage in London and starred in a handful of webseries before realising her true calling is on the other side of the process. She graduated AUT as the Television and Screen Production Graduate of the Year in 2015.
In addition to casting, Harriett is an award-winning director, with work spanning across theatre, drama and commercials. Her breadth of experience means she is fluent in the languages of directing and acting. These are the two languages a casting director needs to speak.
Harriett facilitates a casting room that feels safe, collaborative, and non-judgemental. She takes time to connect and build trust with each person.
She gets the best out of every person she sees. Get in touch with Harriett today to talk about your casting brief.
